Education Welfare Service |
The role of the Education Welfare Service is to work with the school to offer support to students and parents. There are two Education Welfare Officer’s (EWO’s) assigned to the Rossmore Pyramid and they continuously monitor attendance. Students are encouraged to achieve and maintain in excess of 90% attendance due to the impact it has on their learning. If your child is identified as a student with poor or decreasing attendance, they may be referred to the EWS by the school. All circumstances are looked at on an individual basis and the EWS also liaise with other organisations that offer support to parents and students. In some cases, you may also be asked to attend regular meetings with the EWO and a parenting contract may be issued to improve attendance to school. |
