Healthy Schools

Rossmore Community College was validated as a Healthy School in July 2008.  Over the last eighteen months all members of the school community have completed numerous questionnaires.  The answers that you supplied have been useful in driving the Healthy Schools Programme forward.

The Student Parliament Healthy Schools Group is heavily involved in continuing to develop the following areas:

Healthy Eating
The College Travel Plan
Updating the Sex and Relationships Education Policy
Updating the Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco Education Policy

Rossmore Community College Achieves
Healthy Schools Status

On the 25th September members of the Student Parliament, Sally Apps (Headteacher) and Mark Coppage (HS Coordinator) were presented, on behalf of the College, a plaque in recognition of achieving Healthy Schools Status.  The presentation was made by Ruth Angel the Healthy Schools Coordinator for the Borough of Poole.  A big thank you goes to all those students, parents and staff who made this achievement possible.  Also our gratitude is passed to Ruth and her team who supported us throughout our journey and to Nick Ellis who guided us through our travel plan.
