KS5 Courses 2008-09

Lifesaving

BTEC National Diploma in Outdoor Adventure (equivalent to 2 A levels):

Students will complete 12 projects and will be able to undertake a massive range of activities which include trips to Lusty Glaze in Cornwall, rock climbing, coasteering, organising events, surfing, map and compass work expeditions and sports tournaments.

Marriot Project (NVQ2 Multi Skilled Hospitality) Students have the opportunity of working in most aspects of hotel life from including reception, housekeeping, restaurant and leisure services. Successful students may progress to NVQ3 in Customer Services in Year 13.

Travel and Tourism A A/S level   
The Travel and Tourism course enables students to explore this exciting industry. They investigate travel destinations, people in the travel industry, and marketing in the UK tourist industry and carry out an Overseas Destination Study.

Applied Business A A/S level
The Applied Business course enables students to study aspects of business such as people in business, financial planning and monitoring and how businesses are set up and managed.  Units which investigate marketing, information management and marketing may also be studied.  The course has many practical aspects to it and includes work experience opportunities.
