Working in Partnership with the RPLC

The Rossmore Personalised Learning Centre is a small, orderly environment where rewards and sanctions are clearly defined and where learning can be the vehicle for redirecting students back towards success and achievements. We aim to provide young people with experiences that can re-engage them, helping them to connect with their communities; school, home and extended.

RPLC

While in the RPLC students have access to:

- Support with literacy and numeracy
- Vocational activities; gardening, catering, creative textiles, bicycle and fishing projects
- Anger management
- Counselling sessions
- Access to Connexions
- Health work, substance abuse and it's issues, sexual health etc
- Restorative interventions
- Rewards and sanctions tailored to the individuals needs

We meet with parents/carers and student prior to them joining us .We make clear our expectations and the opportunity the student has for a fresh start here and the chance they have for us to provide positive feedback to the school through our final report. We explain they are subject to a reward and sanctions procedure. These are based on school rules and individual targets.
